Sam Gyimah announced as UK Minister for intellectual property

CIPA has welcomed the announcement that Sam Gyimah MP, Minister of State for Universities, Science, Research and Innovation, has been confirmed as the new Minister with responsibility for intellectual property working within the Department for Education and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

Mr Gyimah, who has been MP for East Surrey since 2010, was previously Minister for Prisons and Probation in the Ministry of Justice. 

CIPA President Stephen Jones said: "We were pleased to see Mr Gyimah confirmed as Minister with responsibility for Intellectual Property in addition to his other ministerial duties and have written to congratulate him.
