Updates on intellectual property developments in the UK and Europe will be provided by the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys during a visit to Canada next week.

Members of CIPA’s International Liaison Committee, led by Committee Chairman Richard Mair and North America Working Group Lead Michael Williams, will visit the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC) on Monday, May 16, for a special two-part event.

Peter Wilcox, President of IPIC, said: “IPIC is pleased to welcome our friends from CIPA as we continue our yearly exchange on IP issues of interest to both UK and Canadian IP practitioners.”

The first part of the event will be a CPD session with members of CIPA. Talks will include a discussion on the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court and Small Claims IP Disputes presented by CIPA President, Tony Rollins, and an update on the Unified Patent Court from Paul Misselbrook.

An annual update on IPIC’s recent activities from Mr Wilcox and his team will form the second part.
