Work across a broad section of technical areas including chemistry, biotechnology and biochemistry with a client portfolio that is highly diverse in size and organisation type. The Partner leading this department does a great deal of work with start-ups, spin-outs and SMEs developing strategic IP plans which incorporate many areas of business modelling (such as budgeting, due diligence, corporate acquisitions and IP valuations). You will gain broad IP experience beyond (but including) drafting and prosecution such as licensing and offensive and defensive filing strategies.
This is a highly commercial role, client facing and consultative. In the longer term you will have scope to represent the firm at events both in the UK and internationally.
The firm is open minded as to the background of suitable candidates. You should have a minimum of two years’ experience in the profession but candidates will also be highly regarded who have recently qualified. There is also a wide range of scope in terms of technical background and candidates with a primary biotechnology or chemistry background will be considered.
